Date and Time display on FV, DM, AM, etc
From Cassandra
Date and Time formatting on workstations -- FV, DM, AM, alarm printers, etc...
The "proper" way to set the date and time formatting for workstations is via system definition, where you can pick USA, ISO or EUR formatting for each station.
If for some reason a workstation gets missed, or added with improper formatting, look to the file:
/etc/dateform
This file's contents are "0", "1" or "2", where:
Num Name Example date and time
-------------------------------------
0 USA Jan 2, 2000 2:00 PM
1 European 02 Jan 2000 14:00
2 ISO 2000-01-02 14:00
Note, the actual display of the date may vary, but USA is MDY, EUR is DMY and ISO is YMD. Also, US times will show with AM/PM where ISO or EUR will show a 24 hour clock.
Note: FoxView didn't use this file until somewhere around v9.0.
After editing this file as appropriate, reboot the workstation for changes to take effect. Also, don't forget to echo the change in System Definition, otherwise the problem will come back.
