Talk:Block Usage
From Cassandra
Hello, everyone!
I have a doubt using the ICC in an AW5101:
In our process we have 3 CPs the CP4001, CP4002 y CP4003 and in each one a compound for a pump with its own flowmeter, this was the way it was used some years ago but today we want to use any flowmeter controlling any pump (to be able to select wich flowmeter will control the pump). Where is the problem? That i cant access the compound in the cp4001 or in the cp4003 from the cp4002 (where i want to create the new compound - using the CALC block). I want to ask you if is posible to access this value from one CP to other because i have tried with diferet blocks and i cant!

It's possible, but you have to put the full compound name in the connection:
COMPOUND:BLOCK.PARAM
rather than the abbreviated form
:BLOCK.PARAM
which works when both source and destination are in the same compound. Note that when you do peer-peer (inter-CP) connections, you have to get out of the destination CP (by selecting New from the ICC menu or exiting ICC altogether) before the connection will be valid.
As a side note, you probably want to post questions like this to the mailing list. I suspect most folks don't look in this wiki unless they are looking for help on something specific.
